I Will What I Want

We need to give women and girls young and old a source of inspiration through a unique look at what is possible when boundaries are broken, dreams are captured and friendships cultivated. Young girls need more positive role models to offer then as an alternative to the world of skinny jeans, reality TV, and fashion magazines.  Women’s relationships with nature are helping shape future generations love for the outdoors. Through creating opportunities for more role models for other women and younger generations to look up to because women supporting women works and brings in more confident women who become less afraid to try new activities.

Under Armour has a new marketing campaign "I Will What I Want" It’s a reminder that you don’t need permission, advice, or affirmation when you have WILL. It’s a celebration of who you are. As an athlete. As a woman. As everything in between and beyond. It’s a reminder that the best things in life aren’t given. They’re earned. And there’s one reason you are where you are today. That reason is you.
Often times women can forget that we don't need permission, advice or affirmation to have a WILL. I know I have forgotten this many times in my life. When one of my best girlfriends, Ashley Maxfield,  told me to check out this campaign my first response was thinking- finally more and more larger companies are not only realizing that women exist but we are a powerful force who have opinions. And I am very thankful for that. As an avid supporter of women's specific activities and networks the more recognition within the action sports and outdoor industries the better. Unfortunately, sex appeal wins over most audiences but what about pure determination, talent and dedication. Check out Ashley's video below- if that does not scream determination, talent and dedication to a sport than I am not sure what does.

Always has a campaign out that celebrates doing things #LikeAGirl. Because there is nothing wrong with doing things #LikeAGirl if you are a girl, it is not an insult and should never have become one. Keep your confidence high and show the world that being a girl is awesome. We need to increase female participation in outdoor activities while bringing awareness to everyone else showing that we are here to stay and everything we do is: #LikeAGirl #LadyShred #IAmJane #SheJumps #SkirtingTheMountains #OutdoorWomen #MountainBabe #MountainDarlin #IAmSJ
